DC YouthLink is a nonprofit coalition of organizations with a mission to successfully reintegrate juvenile offenders back into their communities. We work with local and national partners to provide a host of services and support to the youth and their families. We work to improve the community reentry process such that the needs of agency-committed youth, family and communities to which they return are being met.
Offering a continuum of community services and support to incarcerated youth in reentry is an integral part of the juvenile justice system. We have long understood that there are a vast array of services in our community to assist agency-committed youth. However, there is no convenient way to learn about the full range of these services and providers. Printed resource directories often struggle to keep their listings current amidst the ever-changing service provider landscape. Other online resource directories are not geared towards specific populations and contain endless service providers that are often difficult to navigate. Our resource directory offers service providers, government agencies and formerly incarcerated people with a convenient, user-friendly tool to identify needed services. This directory is intended to help service providers make even more informed referrals and develop a deeper knowledge of organizations providing services to a similar client population. It is intended as a guide to help people returning to the community navigate systems and overcome barriers to success.
The listings of service providers in this system are limited to organizations identified as serving the juvenile reentry population either directly with specific programs or through unrestricted services made accessible to formerly incarcerated individuals. All listings are subject to change and may not be current at the time of viewing. We urge anyone to contact the listed agency before attending in person to ensure
- the agency is open;
- possible restrictions on eligibility will NOT affect your client; and
